eNett International, a leading provider of dedicated B2B payment solutions, has launched its first internship program to help students gain real-life experience in the workplace. Partnering with the Swinburne University of Technology and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), students were invited to formally apply for placement on the year-long scheme, with five positions available in the IT department.
eNett Managing Director and CEO, Anthony Hynes, said, “Since launching in 2009, we’ve been expanding rapidly in line with our impressive year-on-year growth. As we provide digital payments solutions, the IT team is integral to delivering the highest levels of customer experience. It’s no surprise they are the biggest and fastest growing team at eNett. This scheme will enable us to identify future employees as well as providing real-world experience to our students, ultimately making them more employable when they graduate.”
In a twist on traditional placement schemes, instead of the senior members of the IT team taking the lead, non-managers were tasked to carry out the entire recruitment process - from formal interviews to final selection and on-going line management. The approach was designed to give those employees not usually involved with recruitment a chance to gain first-hand insight into the process.
Meadhbh Ni Challanain, an eNett IT project manager who was involved in the recruitment, said “Being part of the intern program has given me the opportunity to gain experience in the interview and selection process I otherwise wouldn’t have been involved in. I will also be able to build my line management experience, further enhancing my skill set. The great thing about this program is that it will benefit the employees involved as much as the interns themselves.”
Providing innovative B2B payment solutions to the travel industry through Virtual Account Numbers, eNett recently expanded its operations in Australia, taking over two floors in Melbourne’s Central Business District. Outside of Australia, eNett continues to on-board new talent in all of its major hubs including the UK and its headquarters, Singapore.
