In a nutshell, how would you define your role at eNett?
My role at eNett has many moving parts. My team and I manage some of eNett’s global strategic accounts. Our main focus is to support key customers in strengthening their position – both from a commercial point of view and product capability-wise.
With a commitment to providing an outstanding customer experience, we aim to ensure that our customers are happy with our products and service and that we’re their partners in helping to solve their real payments pain points. And as a result, we strive to contribute to the growth and scaling of their businesses.
What do you love most about your job?
The experience I’ve acquired during the time I have worked with eNett has provided me with in-depth knowledge across the entire travel and payments landscape - enabling me to help our customers in the most rewarding ways. eNett has given me the opportunity to work all over the world, allowing for an enormous amount of exposure to different countries, cultures and travel companies. It is a fast-moving business and we pride ourselves on being quick to market with innovative payment solutions that helps our customers, help theirs. We are disruptors in the B2B travel payments space, which makes it a truly exciting business to be a part of. The constant change and fast paced environment suits my personality traits and keeps me interested, engaged and constantly striving to be better.
What is your team doing differently to help support customers during this time?
Whilst it has been a challenging period for many of our customers, it has been great to work alongside them to help optimise their payment processes, particularly in the areas of funding, charge-backs and refunds. As they look to the future, we strive to add value to our customers’ strategic work-streams, to help them ramp-up quickly as the travel industry recovers, of which we are already seeing signs.
What have you been doing during ISO?
During my seven years at eNett, I’ve probably averaged two international business trips per month, so the Government- imposed restrictions on domestic and international travel has definitely slowed this down, allowing me to spend a lot more time with my family. I have a beautiful wife, Kirsten, and four great children, aged between 11 and 19 years old. It really has been wonderful to spend more quality time with them during this period. Most mornings I try to keep fit, walking and running with my wife and daughters. Now that we can play golf again, I am planning to get out on the golf course whenever possible.
What is something you’ve learnt over the past few months that you will take into ‘post-COVID’ life?
I’ve learnt not to stress the things that I have no control over and concentrate my efforts on things that I can control. I think that even with the shift to online meetings, personal face-to-face interaction is still going to be important to enable genuine, trusted and substantial relationships with people in general. These relationships will be especially important as I continue to work closely with our customers to help shape the future of travel payments, taking into account what we’ve learned over the recent months.
